Sam spent the first few weeks of 2010 in Port Isaac, engineering/recording a quire of fishermen who go by the name 'Fisherman's Friend'.

The Future Sound

Throughout the last week I have managed to spend time writing with each member of the band. Today we were in the same room working for the first time in months, although the actual time spent together was brief, it was awesome.

The tunes we are working on are sounding really great, we're trying lots of new ideas and experimenting outside of our comfort zone.

Time for chilli-con-carne and red wine.

Making Music

It was a year to the day that we were in the depth's of recording our debut full length record, entitled 'articles'. If you have not heard it yet, but are unwilling to part with cold cash (just yet), please feel free to download it illegally, or exploit your freedom in participating in what some call 'the biggest artistic robbery of all time', by using Spotify or we7. You know you're getting old when you start quoting Peter Waterman.

When Mr Burden returns from recording fisherman in a small village in Cornwall, we shall begin writing the follow up... A few ideas are circling my mind, riffs are thundering in the distance, getting closer.
In February we shall be writing new songs. Demo's will be thrown together. We plan to be more creative, explore untrodden realms, but primarily have fun making new music again.

All night sat in front of The Computers

Last night Steve had the Computers stop through at his place for the night. They were off on tour to France the next day.
The evenings entertainment consisted of watching back to back Friends sped up (Wouldn't recommend), Nirvana Live at Reading in 1992, Buffalo Soldiers with Joaquin Phoenix.
Steve's driveway is like a rally course as a result of all the snow. Good times.

The Beginning

Greetings,

So what to make of 2009. It was a tempestuous year for us to say the least. We recorded and released our first full length record, we toured in Europe for the first time, we parted ways with our management of four years, we played to 1000 people, and we played to two people. A lot happened. It was both amazing and utterly demoralising. All in all though, a strong year, one we shall all look back on think; 'fuck me'.

Unfortunately we all came into 2010 separated from one another. Rob was in Thailand with his girlfriend soaking up rays and drinking cocktails. Steve was nursing a hangover in a pub full of skinheads. Sam was being treated to an evening of indulgence from his brother, and i shared two bottles of champagne and wine with my girlfriend. Classic disorganisation.

I write having yet to have even shared a beer with my fellow band mates in this new decade. However if there is one thing we have learnt over the years, it's to be patient, that day shall come soon. All we need now is for the snow to melt.
