So For the past few days we have been back in the studio writing, messing around with a few bits and pieces old and new.

So far all the ideas have potential, whether that potential can be realised is yet to be seen. We spent time sorting through about 15 to 20 ideas and categorising them i.e. deciding whether they will make it through to the next stage, a kind of 'musical ideas' x-factor if you will? I'm pleased to say; some of them are going to Hollywood.

Sam then bounces the tracks down and we put them onto CD. We then leave the studio and let them affect our day to day lives by whatever means possible. For me, this involves playing them over and over again in the car (they wouldnt stand a chance at home, Lil Wayne dominates my player right now)

After Yesterdays session, I have come to the conclusion that two tracks are steering this band in the right direction. I read a very interesting quote from Josh Homme yesterday talking about the Arctic Monkeys and producing their newest record 'Humbug'. The general idea was that for a band to change what they are doing from their last record, but maintain that core exssance of what got people liking them in the first place, is a very difficult challenge, but an entirely necessary one. The quote ended, 'if you risk nothing, you get nothing.'

This summed up how I think we are feeling as a band right now. We have been trying to push our musical direction onto a road that is going to take us on a rock'n'roll adventure. And yesterday, I think we found the vehicle.

Can you feel the Irony chaps?

Chris
