We woke up at Steve’s place and his family were hosting a wedding. Everything looked very posh so we made a speedy exit to crazy chick’s café nearby. I noticed Marti Pellow from Wet Wet Wet getting out a Mercedes, and entering a tanning salon. I thought it was him, but to confirm his number plate said V3 Wet. Either a legend or an idiot either way you slice it.
We hit the road; looking forward to the show but gutted it was the last night of tour. When we got there everyone had already sound checked, and the room was massive. The stage looked and sounded the best of the whole tour. The que was getting bigger and bigger and everyone was so up for the show.
I’m not just saying this because it seems as though we said it every night on the tour, but this was honestly the most fun show we have ever played as a band. The crowd were so awesome, walls of death, circle pits and sweat. The stage was huge, the sound was huge, our bro’s side stage, everything was sick. Portsmouth was seriously a fun time.
Young Guns smashed it, and Steve went on stage for a heavy drop and everyone went nuts. We all invaded the stage on the last song, I got my manhood ripped apart by a security dude after crowd surfing and nearly landing on my neck in the photo pit.
We were very sad to end the tour, but so happy we went out on a high note. Cheers to both Save Your Breath and Young Guns for such wicked tour. And cheers to everyone who came out to the shows.
